GlotBee

Technical translation, every value exact.

User manuals and assembly instructions, specifications and datasheets, test reports, patents, safety data sheets, app and software text. GlotBee reads the whole document first, fixes every component, label and term to one translation, and checks every value, unit and code against the original.

What a technical document needs.

A technical document is used to do something: assemble a machine, file a patent, handle a chemical. A changed value or a skipped step can do harm.

Steps in order.
Each step is one action, in the original’s order and numbering. A safety notice keeps its signal word, the hazard, what it can cause and how to avoid it.
Values, units and codes unchanged.
Every value keeps its unit, tolerance and limit. Part and model numbers, commands and standards (EN, ISO) stay exactly as they are.
Patents: claims that cover the same.
Each claim stays one sentence, with its number and the claim it depends on. Open wording (“comprising”) and closed wording (“consisting of”) are each translated one way every time, every feature keeps one term in the claims and the description, and reference numerals stay as they are.
Safety data sheets by the regulation.
All 16 sections with the regulation’s headings. Every hazard and precautionary statement code (H and P) with the official phrase for that code, where the regulation has one in that language. CAS, EC and UN numbers unchanged.
Software text that still works.
Placeholders such as {name} and %s stay exactly as they are, each once, and are checked automatically. Keys and code stay unchanged, and product names stay as you write them. App string files (JSON, .properties, .po, XLIFF) come back in their own format.

Every number accounted for.

A technical document comes with a translation audit: a separate PDF that lists every number, date, code and name of the original, and shows where the translation has it. Anything that needs a person’s eye is listed first.

It is made by fixed rules, not by AI, so it says the same thing every time, and it is made again after your corrections. It shows that the figures and names match; it does not judge the meaning.

Before you rely on it.

A GlotBee translation is not a certified translation. A court, a registry or an authority usually asks for one, with a sworn translator’s stamp and signature. GlotBee Personal does not certify.

A patent you file is usually prepared or checked by a patent attorney or a certified translator, and a safety data sheet is the responsibility of whoever supplies the product. Read the translation side by side with the original before you rely on it.

Three steps. No email back and forth.

  1. Upload your file.

The language and the kind of document are detected. Check them and choose the language to translate into.

  2. See the price, then click Translate.

The price includes VAT. Before you pay, you see the price and, for a PDF, the first page of your original. Nothing starts until you click.

  3. Review, correct, download.

An email tells you when it’s ready. Read the original and the translation side by side, correct anything you want once, and download it as PDF or Word, or with the original side by side.

Questions

Which technical documents get their own rules?

User manuals and instructions, specifications and datasheets, patents and patent applications, safety data sheets, and software and app text. The kind of document is detected when you upload the file, and you can change it before you translate.

Is the translation certified?

No. A GlotBee translation is careful: it is reviewed, proofread, and checked against the original for numbers, dates and names. Courts, embassies and registries usually ask for a certified translation, though, which means a sworn translator’s stamp and signature. GlotBee Personal does not certify. You can download the translation as Word, so a sworn translator can review it, and sworn translators use GlotBee Professional to certify their work.

Who sees my documents?

You, and anyone you invite. Files are stored encrypted with your own key. To translate them, the text goes to AI providers that work under data processing agreements and do not train on it. You can mask ID numbers, account numbers and contact details before anything is sent. An order’s files are deleted automatically 30 days after delivery, and you can delete them sooner.

What if I find a mistake?

Open the original and the translation side by side, click any paragraph, and correct it. Your corrections are written back into the document with its layout, and you download it again. Every order includes one correction round. You can also report a problem to GlotBee: choose the paragraphs, and decide whether GlotBee may read them.

Which languages?

Over 50: the languages of Europe, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and the other main languages of India, Turkish, Persian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Swahili and more. See every language. A PDF or a scan is translated into languages written in Latin, Cyrillic or Greek letters for now; for the others, upload it as a Word file.
